The outlook is not promising. More than 30 countries last week agreed to spend £7bn on an experimental fusion reactor in France which critics say will not produce any electricity for 50 years, if at all.

That amount of money would provide a lot of CSP power, a proven, working and simple technology that would work now, not in 2056.

Is this an overly simplistic view? What's the downside?

Yes, we should be spending money on csp, well countries that can use it. But we need to be researching fusion as well.

Without a Europe/Africa wide power transfer line. Then huge amounts of csp, geo thermal and other reliable renewable energy isn't great.

Our government should be spedning money on jet stream and sea power as these are what he Uk has.

Fusion has the potential to produce enough energy to never have to worry about such things ever again and its nice to the environment.

The more money we invest the quicker we can have it

I think it's a good thing that more countries are starting to invest in different fusion plants, because if they crack it our power worries are basically over, just have to look to the long term, and realise that 50 years, although a long wait, is better than throwing money at low power soloution.

There is quite a new Horlzon documentary out on Nuclear power, Id recommend watching it as it made me realise how important it is. I fully back it and promote spending money now in order to safeguard the future. No point in not trying to look ahead.

When it ends with
"PLEASE CIRCULATE THIS MESSAGE WIDELY" it looks daft, I can't bring myself to read more than the bullet points.
