I have here 3 IBM Thinkpad T41 laptops.
All with new fresh installs of windows. Only problem is there is no sound coming out of any of them.

The audio drivers install, its a soundmax integrated, i can see it in the control panel.
Volume is max, wave is max

If i do the test hardware, the mic equaliser moves up and down indicating the mic is working, but no output sound.
tried with headphones too.
I tried the drivers direct from IBM, and then i tried just getting it from windows update, and tried a third different version i found using google.

Any ideas?

In the bios, there might be a setting regarding the sound.

also, make sure that speakers/ headphones are in the correct port, and that the speakers/headphones actually work.
If internal speakers, try usuing the headphone port and seeing if that works.

If not, try a different sound playing program ( www.videolan.org ) and see if that works.
