Need advice - housemates owe me money.

If two people have moved out then how can you justify charging them full whack for something that they won't even use - I'd just not charge them but if you were being picky then a reduced fee would be fair.

They haven't moved out!! just decided not to be there.

If they had moved out then charging them would be a joke, you just charge the new people who move in.

IMO the OP has all the right to ask for the full amount regardless. They choose to not stay and use the internet until the end of the contract, which is completely different from not able to use it thus allowing them not to pay for it.

To be honest, they move into the house with you all in the beginning and the agreement is made. However much time they decide to spend in that house is irrelevant....they agreed to pay so much to you each month. I'd expect the correct amount from each.

We all know, however, that things with student "housemates" rarely turn out as such.

With parents?

Yup. She lives 30 minutes away and when she isn't at the student house, she drives home.

Exactly. They haven't moved out. I guess when they clear everything out their rooms, it would be different but they have everything here.

Mmm, indeed.

As many have said, it is all in my name, i signed for it all but they did know they wouldn't be here for the rest of the time. I dread to think how much it'll cost to cancel and a part of me doesn't want to as we're not moving anywhere, just 2 moving out.
