Is Susan Boyle really that good?

I thought she was good yes, but not amazing, there are plenty of female singers who could knock her socks off. She really struggled with some of the low notes in her performance, maybe nerves, not sure. But honestly it's just bizarre how she has become an international star over that one performace she gave. Apparently she is being lined up for a slot on Oprah Winfrey amongst many other things. There must be loads of people out there that can sing that that, no, or is there really such a lack of talent...

The song was sung correctly but nothing more than that. Anybody else with a decent to good voice would be wondering what all the fuss is about frankly.

Edit: A true test of her capabilities will come from other songs or a song most suited to her ability (if there is one).

It's quite nice to see a normal person putting viewers and judges in their place though, hate these types of show. She's a good singer, as said above it'll really be down to how she manages with other songs but she does have a good voice. No doubt many people will want to knock her as she's not a late teen/early twenties stunner.

I wouldn't say she has talent... but she certainly seems to sounds better live than most of the "top" singers recently.

I would say solid rather than talented singing ability.

Fantastic voice. Simon's expression at the end says it all and he knows better than most.
