The Israeli military is preparing itself to launch a massive aerial assault on Iran's nuclear facilities within days of being given the go-ahead by its new government.
Among the steps taken to ready Israeli forces for what would be a risky raid requiring pinpoint aerial strikes are the acquisition of three Airborne Warning and Control (AWAC) aircraft and regional missions to simulate the attack.
Two nationwide civil defence drills will help to prepare the public for the retaliation that Israel could face.

I thought they weren't allowed AWAC anymore after they modified it and sold it to China.

A war between two extremist governments will hurt so many countries and I really hope it doesn't happen.
 
When Israel want to do something they usually do it.

I wouldn't be suprised if a few military isntallations were hit in the process of this attack if it does happen. No country wants to be "wiped off the map" after all.

Why, would you rather see the nutters in charge of Iran's nuclear arsenal "accidentally" let one fall into the hands of a group who'd do their dirty work for them and detonate it in the centre of Tel Aviv?

Rhetoric from a populist extremist. If they became a nuclear power, they are hardly likely to attack another bloodthirsty nuclear power.

Who are we to dictate who can and cant have nuclear power?

They can have nuclear power, we have said we will give them designs and help them.

What we don't want is them having nuclear weapons. Who are we to say this? well we have bigger guns and it's in our interest and the worlds. The UN should be backing this, or at least UK/USA.

Have I missed something here, who's this "we" you speak of?

I thought the story was about Israel gearing up to protect itself from the hardline nutters in Iran gaining the capability to carry out their threats of "Wiping Israel from the map".
