So, many case modders cut a blow hole to add a fan or vent, and I have read that a 114mm hole is the size to go for - having looked at a few sites that I thought might a hole saw that size, I have drawn a blank - just where do you get a 114mm hole saw ? Screwfix do a 102mm or a 127mm...

Not sure exactly where to post this - maybe a dedicated section for build logs might be just the place....................................................

Cutting a blowhole eh?

Be careful where you drill it. Follow this diagram to make sure you don't hit any important components.

be careful not to just end up with a very scratched case, tape the area off and have the area securely fixed, those holesaws are mean :)

Might be a better call going for dremel/similar and filing to size. A hole saw is going to be very difficult to use here unless it's mounted in a machine, I wouldn't even try cutting that by hand.

This. Have some conviction in what you're doing else you'll just end up with some nice spirograph-esque scratches on your case.

I'll tell you what the blowhole's not for, and when I do you'll understand why we can never go back to seaworld.

Had to.

Sounds like I could be up for a few million from some art gallery with my spyrograph 'works'...!

I have been in the building trade for many years, so will attack the case like it was a clients...!!!

I used a bench drill to mod my Akasa Mirage side panel, I used a flat piece of honeycomb'd aluminium as a template:

I did my first attempt at cutting a hole in my case with a drill by drilling loads of holes in a sort of roundish shape and knocking it out - that took ages and was untidy ;)

I did my second with a dremel bought for the purpose and used a load of cutters ... that took ages and I wasn't convinced!

Last time I used my Jig saw: mark em out, drill the starting hole, cut out the disc with the JS and use the dremel to tidy up the edge - this is now my preferred method if space allows. My current case has had 5x120mm holes done with this last method ...

Buying the specific holesaw was hard, so I got the nearest size without spending a fortune. This meant choosing an 80mm fan instead of a larger hole but am pleased with the result. Just use a steady hand and make sure the panel is well anchored (wont move).
