Why is it you cant go out and have a good night out anymore, it seams everyone is looking to fight now, maby its just the area im in but everyone has lost it.

Last night i was at my local club and a mate went to get us a pint, 15 mins later still no sign of him, walked around he was gone. Went outside here hes standing with his face all over the place and some guy in his face going Nuts.

Now im not one for fighting but when i see a friend thats usualy quiet in such a state i dont like it. This guy just wouldnt back dont and started spitting in his face, so in my haste i elbowed the chap in the face, to which he promptly hit the ground like a sack of spuds. and lay there out cold for 5 mins

Why is it everyone goes out and starts fights now, because if what i have done i now feel bad too.

Is it just this area or is the whole of the UK gone barmy, ive been drinking in bars since i was 16 (the joy of sideburns) and thats the first fight ive ever had.

But what gets me most is my mates in RAF and doing something with his life and comes home for a nite out wi the lads and because some goon wants a fight he gets leathered.

Whats your area like and have any of you had similar

bad isnt it. and whoever thought of installing those arcade punch-machines in nightclubs around luton need taking out back and shooting. i cant find the words to describe how utterly retarded that is. the lat few times i bothered to go to liquid in luton, groups of lads were haging around this punch machine, walking with a limp and throwing attitude at people who walked by. there's no place for that sort of thing in a boozer-fueled environment like a night club. idiots.

yeh it's getting worse. When I start drinking in pubs/clubs etc about 6 years ago you could walk through down no problem on a saturday night, now tho every bugger starts shouting at you and generally wanting to fight. Very annoying

What i found most funny was bout 6 weeks ago i was out and the bar was empty, and i was leaning on bar with my arms folded, n this guy came up n banged into me n goes "you gone move upa bit?" WTF the bars about 30foot long and u want to stand where i am, to his reply "if you dont shut it i will have you" i say WHAT

Thats just asking for trouble.

Just got off fone to my mate, he had to go get stitches above his eye brow, i looked at it when i droped him off last night has a cut about 1.5" long looked ok at time but has been down to A&E, thats going to look realy great when hes working, Regardles of where you work no one should be black and blue but in an RAF office i bet thats frowned appon highly

IMO as an old timer, it's because you youngsters tend to go out with the sole intention of getting totally rat arsed and when loads of young men and women have had loads of booze, most of 'em act act like ****s.

see, simple really. ;)

I agree with that. To many people drink to get wasted, i personaly dont, id sooner go out have a few drinks and come home and still be FRESH the next day, I had 3 single malt whiskeys and a rum and coke last night, and that was me happy. everyone looks at me like some sort of wierdo because i dring Glenmorangie and stuff, but as i say i dont go to get hammered.

Its like you go into a bar and everyone resorts back to being a Troglodyte

Never had any problems apart from one Friday night in Bristol, a "locals night". Some big chav lad tried to headbutt me for no reason and ended up getting a beating from the majority of the people I was with.

Does seem to be getting worse... but atleast where I am its nothing like as bad as it used to be 10 years ago... end of the 90s really brutal fights, lots of dodgy drug dealing, etc. was quite common, for the last few years its been pretty calm (prolly coz the previous violence reached a threshold requiring attention and was dealt with and now they think its solved and paying less attention to it).

Fortunatly tho no one messes with me as I keep getting mistaken for one of my friends' ex who has a reputation.

My night turned a bit sour last night with a load of mates arguing with each other and one in particular getting a bit punchy :(

I'm laying off the booze for a few months again I think as frankly, it just turns me into a bit of a tit, and gets my mates arguing :(

My brother inlaw came here at christmas and he agreed that here is just lunacy for fights and people with problems. He stays in sothern Ireland and when i was accross people would sit and talk to you even if they didnt know you, here if you look at someone you get a mouth full. makes me realise how i dont realy enjoy going out that much aswell.

Never been in or had someone I know in a fight, though seen plenty. I'm not the type to start or carry on a fight anyway - always neutralise.

Was buying my regular chips and chicken at the end of last night and as I was paying at the counter some chav stole a chip. Obviously stealing another guys food is like the 11th commandment, so I told him so. He was with a mate (I was alone) and just said "Ooo, this guys up for it". Yeah, that's right, I want both of us to be bleeding and in police arms over a stolen chip.

And it's also the general retardedness - there was a police van and about six officers right outside (I've found Bristol is quite good for late-night police presence in the centre), so what does he think's going to happen?

Never been involved myself luckily but it seems all the big Dnb nights in London I used to go to frequently attract lots of ******* - always something kicking off somewhere.

Quite a few of the guys I used to go out clubbing with on a weekly basis were exactly the same ; always in a group looking for trouble and if there was a fight going on they were always involved somehow

This is why I stopped going out. Yeah, there are some nice people who are just there for a bit of fun and won't cause any trouble, but there are so many idiots out there, that I'd rather just save my money.

It's a shame.

I haven't had any issues all the times I've gone out in Brighton or Canterbury. It all depends on which venues you go to and who you go out with. If you do go to any venue that might attract trouble (like DnB nights) then go with some big mates :)

Never had any trouble. The odd loud mouths abuse but they are easy to handle.

Some people always seem to get into fights yet always claim they were completely innocent. Funny that.
