Is it only me that has a seriously miswired brain the day after a booze session?

I swear that drink gives me tourette's; I end up thinking out loud and saying random stuff until the haze clears late afternoon

Hehe, I know what you mean, I feel absolutely awful today after going out for a friends 21st last night. So much for a day of revision :p

I was trying to explain something to said friend earlier and came out with "killing two stones with one bird".

My lass was quite drunk a while back and texted me "Oh mess, I'm in a dear" :D

Yea I get pretty bad anxiety the morning after and generally start worrying about things too much. Ive had thinking out loud moments as well and times were ill be fixed in a trance. I cant handle alcohol at all anymore!

The anxiety is horrible, I always worry about if I've gone too far or offended someone. It's even worse if you can't quite remember things clearly :) Maybe I'm just turning into an old git but I'm starting to think that perhaps I should cut it out and retain full control of my faculties at all times :D

My coworker just yelled at me while I was on the phone, "Holy crap you're loud!!" Seems the couple shots of Jack last night are having an effect on me today. :o

I have found that long term daily use of alcohol, even in quite small amounts causes some quite subtle and ongoing effects.

1) Slightly upset stomach
2) A can't be bothered approach - ie tend to leave things that need doing till another day instead of getting up and doing them.
3) More irritable and less amiable
4) Lethargic
5) Slightly unreliable memory
6) Poor quality sleep.

to name a few.

For some reason I wake up quite perky after getting ****-faced the night before. I do find it hard to get more than 4 hours sleep though so have woken up a little drunk many times :D

Prior to age 27/28 or so, hangover effects were:

1. Nausea, sometimes vomitting
2. Headache
3. Furry tongue/dry mouth

A nice fry-up, some Lucozade and several cups of tea and I was ready for another session.

Post 27/28, hangover effects have been:

1. Nausea, sometimes vomitting
2. Headache
3. Furry tongue/dry mouth
4. "The shakes"
5. "The fear" - sometimes crippling anxiety and depression. Often enough to confine me to my bed, or at least to the house.
6. Hallucinations and a horrible sense of general "unreality"
7. Ataxia - I just walk into things with no apparent ability to navigate my way through the world
8. Totally fried short-term memory
9. Some sort of personality disorder in which I turn into some awful parody of the bitter 70s TV drunk - foul-mouthed, abusive, acidic and just thoroughly unpleasant.

Getting drunk in general has become a whole lot less pleasant since just before my 30s...

For some reason I never get hangovers or any after effects when waking up after a long night out.. it gets better since I wake up easily after drinking too.

I must be an alien :o
