On the road....
My LAN connection on my pc refuses to connect to the web reporting Limited or no connectivity, yet my wireless works fine.

My other 3 PC's all connect via my LAN just fine yet my own pc won't (previously it did with no issue!)

I decided to re-install windows and the problem persists!

Problem with my motherboard perhaps? - ASRock 4CoreDual SATA2

I have updated the motherboard & LAN drivers btw.

Any suggestions appreciated!

OS is XP Home, SP3.

Check the cable? Try different port on router/switch as well. Oh and on the network card properties, make sure the speed is set to Auto.

Had a similar problem recently, just seemed to be 1 pc that wouldn't work on the router, reinstalled OS, tried different cables, different ports on the router, even a different NIC, was working before as well for a good while. This wasn't my own personal problem btw. It was strangley enough fixed by firstly connecting the non-working pc to a hub and then from hub via uplink to the router and it worked!

Possibly something in the motherboard was playing up, but seemed a bit of a mystery, maybe you have the same thing.

I have tried most of the suggestions you mention mate, and will try the others later.

FWIW, I'm pretty convinced my Asroch board's a bit duff - I'm forever getting sound issues with it (regardless of on-board or my soundblaster card) and its forever losing my GFX drivers.

Moral of the story is don't buy a jack of all trades - master of none motherboard! :o:D

I'll report back if I have any joy. :)

Cheers.

One thing ive heard before is to press the power and reset buttons at the same time then ( let go ) and put switch the psu back on. Asus used to have this as a fall back to reset the network adaptors ( asrock being a sub brand of asus )

As a last resort I thought what the hell and decided to try this, I was not expecting it to do any good!

I was not sure if I was supposed to shut down first so just hit my power & reset button at the same time and unplugged my USB wireless adapter.

What do you know? it works! - I am posting this via my LAN / Ethernet. :)

I'll remember that one for future reference!

Thank You esK` :cool::cool::cool:
