OC got my driving test soon, Hopefully should all go good.
What car would you guyz recommend as a first car where as insurance will not be a pain and as for my first car what do you reckon it should be? :D:D:P

Thanks

I had a little Fiesta 1.1 to start off. A similar Saxo would also be good!

Had a VTR which was awesome so I am guessing the lower down ones would be pretty good too!

Good luck with the test.

I might be getting something like a 2003 Mégane 1.4. Yes at 23 I'm only just learning to drive (really havent needed to until now). Is this a retarded choice?

Thing is that I've a relative who works in a Renault garage nearby and can thus get one second-hand at whatever it was traded in at, which I figured should save some cash. Still stay away from Renaults?

Fiesta 1.25, buy one for a grand, keep it for a year and then sell it on and get something nicer. Peanuts to run, parts are cheap, you can service it yourself and when it comes to selling it on you'll get most of your money back.

Gotta agree on the Fez 1.25.

Avoid Punto's, Corsa's (because they're terrible, I've had both) and probably Clio's & Saxo's too (usually boosted insurance premium due to the boy racer reputation).

Depends, can your relative also get hold of parts and service the car on the cheap? If yes, then go for it.

we should just have a sticky for new drivers.

Advice for new drivers:

1. Buy Fiesta 1.25
2. See step 1.
3. Sell when bored.
4. Cycle starts again.

:D

not to cause arguments but how could any body be seen dead in either a old fezzy or 106 or saxo?

i feel sick just thinking about being seen in any :p

even though i cant think of any other cars what would be cheaper on insurance lol

it's because you are so cool.

theres a lot of difference lol, bigger, better, stronger, last longer, still cheap to run, look a lot better with it being jap, parts are just as cheap, easy market for them on resale,

only down factor is they rape on on first couple of years insurance and they rust quite easily :(

it's because you are so cool.

i know
