Iplayer goes HD

Working fine here on 20mb virign, no lags and very smooth playback. network usage seems to jump up every 10 sec for a few sec to steam, it's not constant, so I can imagine people on lesser connections struggling here.

I'm on possibility one of the worst ISPs there is and it works completly fine for me on this...

You folks at 6.5, 8+ etc shouldn't have any problems if I dont.

Where do I start?

- Poor bandwidth management. I'm struggling to comprehend how on an 8MBit connection sync'd at 6.5MBit that it needs to lag and buffer constantly through anything at just SD resolutions.

- Even now, it still can't figure out what country i'm from. "You need to be in the UK to recieve radio!". Hello? I think I would know what country i'm from, lived in, and been a resident for for 23 years.

- And when it doesn't pull the crap about country, it just refuses to connect. Apparantly my sound device is "in use". I'm sure it's not talking about the same sound device as me - the same device which works fine in every other program on my PC.

Seriously, the BBC need their heads smacked together.

Thats all on your end mate.

HD looks considerably better, but still seems ruined somewhat by compression, it can be quite distracting. Having said that, it's a big improvement over even the HQ, just a shame there's not much content atm. I was hoping heroes tonight would come on but looks like it won't be available.

First two points are your ISP, last bit is slightly confusing as it should work if other video sites that use flash work, i.e. YouTube.

I'd get in contact with your ISP if I were you as it sounds like they're assigning you IPs out of the wrong range.

Doesn't look like it's even 720p to me. Is it from the website, or from the desktop player itself? Because looking at the streaming from the website, it's most definately not 720p.
