i think i heard somewhere, end of the year
Too late.
End of 2009, sounds good. Is Westmere the processor with 6 cores (yes, I've since noticed I spelt processor wrong in the thread title).![]()
Will it work in current i7 motherboards? It's almost same specs as Core i7.
With extra SSE4 extensions. And 32nm.

I`m sure i heard on the internet but don`t hold me on that, we won`t see the high end Westmere 32 nm processors parts until 2010. We will see lower 32 nm processors based on Westmere this year, but won`t be the real high end processors.
So? It's still being release no matter what form.
Hah, I think I'll stick to my Q6600 then!Lord No! Intel would never do that!
A new platform will be released.
A person over in the XtremeSystems forums has gotten his hands on Intel's upcoming "Clarkdale" processor. For those of you not-in-the-know, "Clarkdale" will be Intel's first desktop CPU+GPU chip. It will contain a 32-nm "Westmere" dual-core processor with 2 x 256KB L2 cache, 4MB of shared L3 cache, along with other still unknown "Westmere" enhancements. The GPU will be on a seperate 45-nm chip (but in the same package) that will also have the dual-channel DDR3-1333 memory controller and a PCI Express 2.0 hub with 16 lanes. "Clarkdale" will use the same Socket 1156 as the upcoming quad-core "Lynnfield" processor, and it is currently scheduled to come out in Q4 2009.
