Shell V-Power Vouchers....?

I'd love to try it, but can't install their "voucher printer driver", due to their sloppy coding. It's trying to download from http://shell/...

And I can't "email a voucher" because it says
voucher website said:
Unrecognised offer

We're sorry, but we do not recognise the offer that you have requested.

What exactly do the vouchers entitle you to?.

Can't see from that page, all I see is the page telling you to install their printer driver.

haha a voucher printer driver? sounds like virus

I would be rather surprised it it was a virus of any sort considering its on the official Shell UK website. ;)

That said, I'm always wary of downloading and installing things like this just because "it says you need to".

What's so special about Shells bespoke printer driver compared to my HP 2575 drivers that means I can't print a voucher?.

I suspect it may have something to do with the "bar codes" but I'm still wary about downloading it.

Someone else download it first and tell us how you get on. :p

saying that lots of people from say paypal which directs them to a site that looks just like it etc. i wouldnt install it unless it offered me something great, which i doubt it will

Agree, and its only natural to be wary.

However in this case it's genuine. If you go to :-

http://www.shell.co.uk/

And follow it through from the main site, it takes you to the same page.

Products Services>>>>On the road>>>>Promotions

So it's not a redirect to anywhere "dodgy". ;)

I'm pretty sure VMWare is free these days. MS Virtual PC may be too, can't remember.

Install Windows on that, install the Shell software, print out your voucher, delete the VM.

or £1 off a £5 topup :D

I'm assuming its a driver to prevent you from churning out loads of them

Another reason to use VMWare, you can just roll back the image :)
Edit: Or just print to a file rather than a port, then COPY FILE LPT1: multiple times ;)

I think the minimum fill is 2 litres at most petrol stations. Someone with enough time on their hands could get a half price tank. ;)
