spec me a crunching card

I did think about that, but I read that the molex wiring wasnt designed to handle the draw and would melt even if the psu was ok if a splitter was used - decided to sell the card and buy the 9800 eco version which I know will run

You could always just buy one of mine second hand and underclock the shaders :)

But I would still need the extra power connector I think as these cards are designed to run with them, I dont think it would even post without it? Might test that out on my existing 8800GT and find out for sure

Hey edgedemon, did you manage to get a Zotac 9800GT ECO? I still can't find them for sale. :(
No, Im still waiting for OCUK to get some in stock, I posted in the 'wanted' forum and they were expecting them 2 weeks ago. The moment they do (and I get paid  ) I will get one and that RAC upto 8500-9000 :D

Biffa - suspended? Who have you been upsetting??? You didn't go and trash Spie's Ferrari now did you?

He was caught bumping in MM

Yeah its got so strict in there lately! *thats all I'm gonna say* :D

Oh yeah I forgot about the "doesn't need power" reasoning of these cards. Maybe they will do a GTS250EE now the 9800 series is defunct

The 9800GTX has become the GTX250. They were going to rename the 9800GT to GTX240 but after all the negative press from the first change they are keeping the 9800GT name.

Ugh, i know too much about graphics cards and I don't even game.

As for the members market I think my tactic would have been a 50p price drop ;)

That would be GTS250 :)

I know the background and think they are silly renaming existing cards, however once they started down that route they should have stuck to it and called the 9800GT the GT250 I reckon. Then they could have done the GT250EE :p
