Remember that natural twins (from the same egg, rather than dissimilar twins from different eggs) are, effectively clones of each other. Isn't this really just a medical procedure to replicate a natural process?

Well, OK, I know it's a bit more complex than this ethically since he is creating embryos from doner skin cells and there is a whole raft of medical and ethical issues. But cut to the chase - if something is technologically possible it will happen somewhaere in the world, legally, illegally or clandestinely.

If you're a clone, who are your parents? Would your parents be the parents of the person you're cloned from?

Genetically yes of course, they technically "conceived" you in a manner of speaking.

This process would only be good news if our global population wasn't rapidly spiralling out of control. It's one thing to support people born naturally, it's going to complicate things further if everyone wants clones of their dead relatives :/

I don't see what all the fuss is about.

Why would you want clones of your dead relatives? Seriously, thats just weird. Say I wanted to clone grandma, its just going to be bloody odd watching Grandma MkII as a child.

I really don't think it is that much of an issue, The clone will only be a physical copy but it will not actually be the person who is cloned, If anything it will be a person in its own right.

If it becomes a regular thing it will make a mockery of the current criminal convictions from DNA evidence.

Although it would be nice to have a spare parts person so then i could live my life to the full knowing that when the excesses break me i can then be repaired :D
