LEGO Rock Band is being developed by TT Games in a partnership with Harmonix and published by Warner Bros. Entertainment. The game is built (geddit?) around the theme: "Build a Band and Rock the Universe." The teen and tween geared game boasts some of these tunes: Blur's "Song 2", Carl Douglas' "Kung Fu Fighting", Europe's "The Final Countdown", Good Charlotte's "Boys and Girls" and Pink's "So What".

Going down the Guitar Hero route of releasing loads of games with "rock band" in title :(

Song 2 + Final Countdown instantly outweight anything negative about this game.

Besides, they won't go the GH route of releasing lots of games. This year, GH has 5 games coming out I believe (GH:M, GH:SH, GH5 and 2 more un-named). Rock Band has 3 now I believe (This, RB:Unplugged for psp and The Beatles: Rock Band).

I see this as a great step for RB, kids love the Lego series of games, and a lot of people love the RB series, so combining the 2 can't be anything other than good. And besides, when Rock Band games are just pure brilliance, I have nothing against them releasing more...providing the tracks are exportable of course :p

Exactly the same for me, what concerns me is the tracks won't be exportable. Where the ACDC ones?

I like putting one disc in and choosing from 250 songs rather than disc swapping.
 
Ah didn't know that might demo the tracks see if I like any.

Duno why they don't just knock £5 off and make them all downloads as well as a full game. I'd be happy to do that and not worry about the achieves.
 
So... what exactly is the point in this? Instead of characters that look vaguely like real people you get Lego characters? Sounds well worth being released as a game :/

Seriously, this is the sort of stuff that belongs as DLC.

(This is under the assumption that the songs are available in 'proper' rock band games... which i bet they will be)

I was thinking this.

When I heard that Lego Rock Band was Confirmed and Official, I thought "Argh great... this is going to suck!"

However...
Final Countdown = Awesome
Song 2 = Awesomeer :D

However, I'm hoping they release the songs they release in Lego Rock Band on the RB1+2 DLC List - then I wouldn't bother grabbing Lego Rock Band :p

All the AC DC tracks are worth it imo :)

Great fun to play (if you know their stuff of course :))
 
Does the press release confirm you use instruments in this game? (had a quick scan but didn't spot it).

I imagine it's HIGHLY likely this is more like Rock Band: Unplugged and you use a joypad and mash buttons then using guitars etc.

Although the thought of a working guitar styled like lego is funny :D

If this is the case I bet the songs aren't exportable, however, they would be VERY likely to show up in Rock Band as DLC (COME ON EUROPE PACK AND SONG 2!)
