Petrol Prices

Been paying 94.9 for what seems like days now. Not TOO bad as things go but a far cry from the low 80's we saw a couple of months back :(

some garages around here have tipped over into the £1 bracket again. Oh well still cheaper than europe though so still good :D

Could be worse, you could be in NL and be paying £1.15 a litre.
Exactly, so stop whining about the petrol prices in the UK :p

Also the tax for a new car is much higher here than in the UK, especially now that you pay extra if your car has a lower mpg than comparable sized cars, also we have a maximum of 52% income tax and our VAT is 19%

Wish car companies would hurry up with the electic car, im so gonna get one asap when they can do more than 400 miles on a charge and dont take 8+ hours to recharge.

Think the new ford one out next year does 40 miles per charge, 8 hour charge time, but at a cost of 50p to recharge is 10 times cheaper than fuel is currently.

Bet the government will find a way of taxing is then also.

Well, if you're a smoker you win one back. Cigarettes over there are half the price they are here.

8 hour charge to drive 40 miles, no thank you, on top of that, how can I to charge the car in the carpark, a 1000 feet extension cord and use the leccy of the company?

Also it is cheaper, but how long do the batteries last and what does it cost to replace them?
That also has to be calculated in the cost per mile.

Anyway, electric cars are crap, we need big investments in Hydrogen technology.

When we were in Holland a couple of years back we felt that cigarette prices weren't really that great.
Neither me or my wife smoke, but my mum wanted us to bring her some back - wasn't a great saving to be had.

My mum still does trips to Belgium for her cigarettes.
Over recent months the prices have gone up there too, but still a fair bit cheaper than UK prices.
A day trip via Euro Tunnel isn't too bad and then it's less than an hours drive from France to Belgium.
