started to pick up on playing badminton again, my main problem is that i sweat a lot and need an intake of fluids during a session to keep me going.

normally its just plain old water, just wondered if there is anything about that would help/aid me during and recovering.

cheers........

Going the cheapo route add salt and sugar... Or buy a sports supplement mixer such as SIS GO. Whether it will help much is difficult to say, it might be that you are just not fit yet, and amount of ISO drink will help that.

Oh! and stay hydrated all the time, not just when you are playing sports.

I used to have all sorts of problems with hydration and found that ISO drinks helpd me loads.

Depends if you want calories from the drink or to just hydrate and replace electrolytes.

Nuun is good for just electrolytes, I use Gatorade Endurance or Endurox Accelerade with caffeine for added calories depending on what I'm doing.

90 minutes of badminton doesn't really require expensive 'sports drinks'. Good old water, salt and some squash (not sugar free) is fine.

You should be well hydrated way before you begin your session, what you drink throughout the day and prior to exercise will have a massive impact in comparison to what you ingest whilst playing.

Nothing wrong with hydrating as you play though, it will undoubtedly help.

anything in particular you would recommend me to eat/drink and steer clear of ?

Coffee dehydrates, so steer clear of that. Water or fruit juice are decent to drink through the day.

Coffee might dehydrate if you drink a lot of espresso. Regular coffee should add enough water to counteract the dehydration.

Correct with the suggestion of water though, if you are serious about hydration, just keep drinking. Some of the stuff I've read about on hydration reckons if you don't get up in the night for a pee, then you need to drink more... and if you do wake up in the night for a pee, you need to knock back more water....

You should be needing a pee about 6-8 times a day!!
