Thought I'd give a lens a clean and the Lenspen has disintigrated for some reason and left hundreds of minute black specks everywhere (Look like microscopic whisker shavings) which are not brushing or blowing off :( I really wish I'd noticed this before doing the rear element with it too..Never had this happen when I've used it before, do they have a limited use or sell-by date?

I notice the odd speck off mine, given what you've said I may chuck it before it gets worse. The brush is awful too, always adds more detritus than it removes. Either our technique or the product sucks.

I believe you're meant to use a compressed air can on the brush (definitely NOT into the camera) prior to using the brush. That should clear gunk off the brush and also give it a light static charge to aid picking up dust from your sensor.

Lenspen ;)

Though the same principle might be true, I don't know.

Charging the brush with static seems to have done the trick! I also found a YouTube showing how to correctly use the Lenspen, I was using far too much pressure when using the carbon pad end, apparently you need to use it very lightly, not press down on it too hard like I was doing :o
