How good is the ATI Radeon HD 4650 compared to my 8600GTS?

Being it's a DDR2 version it won't be that much faster. Try to get hold of a GDDR3 version, that'll walk all over the 8600 GTS.

Try playing a recent game at 1920x1200 on your 8600GTS then come back and tell us how good it is ;)
 
and who is telling you to play at 1920x1200 it's a mid range card of course it wont play at 1920x1200 as good as others. i play at 1280x1024 i know my screen sucks compare to other's but it wasnt meant to be played at higher then that. i have 9400GT atm cause i sold my pc but the 8600gts is still good value you can get it pretty cheap now.
