Charlie Brooker's Newswipe

Reminds me of Ben Croshaw... watching the first show and it is very funny :D

Ben Croshaws biggest influence is Charlie Brooker. I think he's even went as far to say that he just rips him off completely...which is probably right.

Just saw this for the first time a few mins ago on BBC4, he's so cynical but that's what makes it so great. :D Hilarious, wish I had seen it sooner!

His cynicism is something special. He used to write game reviews for PC Zone magazine. Check out his monday column on the Guardian website.

Check out his 'Dawn of the Dumb' book - a compilation of his life and TV columns. I don't watch a lot of TV so most of that made no sense, but the rest is hilarious.

Brooker is a legend. nothing less.

Love Screenwipe / Newswipe and his column in The Guardian.

If he says something good it generally is, The wire, BSG and Breaking Bad are a few recent recommendations.

Last night's show was a repeat unfortunately :( He was wearing a neck brace too which probably explains why he hasn't written any articles for the Guardian either :(

Yeah it does remind me of Chris Morris actually :) Morris is darker, subtler, and less obnoxious, though.

I am a huge fan of Morris and would certainly agree with the darker and subtler suggestion.
Still an excellent programme though. The one a couple of weeks ago with the report that Live Aid money was used to fund six further years of civil war in Ethiopa which it is estimated caused more deaths than the actual famine was a very depressing thought.

The thing that I like about this is that although it's satirical it's also making good points about what's going wrong in the world, which is why i've preferred it to screenwipe. In some ways I'd compare it to a televised version of Private Eye.
