Right, apparently my lappy has a Blu Ray Player a: MAT****A BD-RE UJ225S ATA thingy majiggy.

So, do I need software that will be able to play the Blu Ray disk?

If so/not, what do I need to do?

VLC (ask Google) is free and pretty damn good. No idea about specifics of Blu Ray playback though. I'd assume it wouldn't have any issues. Plays everything.

without sounding silly have you checked there wasnt one that came with the laptop ? either pre installed or a disc in with it ? most oftenly do

My last two laptop purchases have been sent with the dvd playback software disks... Also my LG br/hd drive was sent with one too.

I'd be surprised if you don't have one somewhere

I have this Roxio Creator Premier Blu Ray 10.1 but that only gives me a sugggestion that I can write to Blu Ray players not read from them.
