***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Survival Mode Time Trials Thread

yeah as the game stands now, its basically hole up in the best spot next to the ammo, shotguns for tanks, mollys for hordes la la la

i see it as a quick game of survivors before vs, and dont think ill ever be doing a campaign again
 
Has anyone else noticed the annoying 'push back' or 'splash damage' (whatever you call it) when a team mate has been pounced be a hunter?

Once they get pounced next to you, I seem to get pushed quite far and by the time i've recovered the hunter has been on them for about 5 seconds!

It only appears to be in Survival mode

Yeah there is a delay in the amount of time you can react once a hunter has pounced a team mate who is right next to you. Sucks but I suppose it's needed for survival mode to make it a little harder against waves of AI Special Infected!

I guess its a penalty for sticking to close together, say in a tight corner. If you spread out a little bit it wont touch you at all and you can just blast the hunter away once its pounced. Though from my experience so far survival doesnt really need that much stratagy and thinking to get 10min+ times.
 
The toughest non-lighthouse map i have played so far is the Construction Site on DA, managed 7ish minutes but it is very easy to get nailed early on, especially when there are 3-4 smokers doing the rounds.

Havent played many of the maps so it is all still pretty new to me, hopefully will be on today/tonight at some point.
 
Had a few great games with MidnightLamp, Lagmeister and a mate of mine fairly new to the forums last night.

Cheers for keeping us entertained last night lads. I don't think I've ever experienced such a selection of excellent quips and witty jibes during a match of the aformentioned game :D I think 1930s politicians should play more Left4Dead ;)

Good thing we had lag on our team to distract the smokers. :p I swear the smokers only went for him for the entire game.

We now have the best hospital time on ocuk (18 minutes 30 seconds) :cool:. If midnight didn't crash, we might of got 20+ minutes. :D
 
Yeah, we're on FIRE!!!!!!! Quite literally on a few occasions (dodgy lolatovs aplenty) :D

We need a team name.

I propose Team SurvivalOfTheFittest. Because we survive. And we're fit. Innit.
 
Barely played survivor mode, pain in the ass finding 4 people not already in games when i get home from work.

I tend to do a versus first, then the people who are up for another one join another lobby and we get some survival going :)

I'll throw a few invites in your direction if I see you online (I'm Smarteyy)
