I had a simular problem with a neighbour from around my area. I used to wash my 350z every Saturday and spend a good few hours detailing it. For me it was more a hobby and kept me entertained at weekends. After the first few times I never had any problems, but then all of a sudden I'd wake up Sunday morning and eggs would have been thrown at it. In the end I set a night vision camera up and found out it was a 40 year old guy from across the street doing the damage.

No, but having had my own car vandalised, it's not hard to see they targetted it due to it's appearance.

Yes I provided the evidence to the police and they did the rest. Unfortunately he only got a fine and was issued a warning that he could not set within 15 feet of my property, which meant he basically couldn't cross the road lol. Within a week though his house was up for sale & a month later he was gone.

Generally speaking people don't go to that sort of effort as a result of jealousy. Jealousy manifests itself in damage like keying a car down the side, etc etc.
