Honestly,
ive been with this shambles of a company for too long... there appear to be no english operators so trying to sort anything out can suffer from the language barrier they take forever to get anything done even processing payments and seem to like to lie to there customers about whats happening!

If your considering a new credit card please do yourself a favour and avoid these empty heads!

I had a capital one card, have to say; not the best customer service!. I no longer have a capital one card ;P :D.

I like the irony of this post. :D

Yes , Capital one are rubbish !

there the only company that aren't letting go over my late fathers debt, they keep asking for things to be accounted and to add up his estate even though no estate has been left because there was no will.

I've had a Capital One card in my purse for the past 10 months or so, never been used!

Partly because credit cards scare me, partly because I can't remember what the darn pin is :D

Another thing that really gets me about these plonkers is how they say make a late payment mark against your credit file when its been insufficient but on time... I work for a collections department for a major catologue brand and I know enough about Credit files and things to know this is bad practice... an insufficient mark is nowhere near as bad as late payment marks

Funny, I speak to an English operator every time, and have had no problems with my platinum card at all, other then having to reduce the limit every now and again.

don't see it myself, it's written in english
I think he was implying that the original post was written in dire English, but you're right it's certainly not ironic as that would imply humour.

Tbh I havent had any problems with my Capital One account probably due to fact that I havent had to call them....yet :p

Anyways right now I wouldnt touch them as their deals are pretty much dire since the credit crunch hit, whereas I'm still enjoying my 13month period of intrest free balance transfers and purchases :D

Still have my Capital one card...have had it for donkey yrs now and i hardly use it...should really get around to cancelling it tbh.

Never had a problem with them, mainly because i dont use it all that much..£100 max is what i spend on it if i need to..and i usually pay it off in go...i dont want to be paying those muppets any interest:p.

Yep they are a total joke. All their customer service agents/clowns are outsourced and based in India. English is a problem to most of them!! It takes ages to get through as well.

Also, be aware if you pay over the counter more than £999.99 in a single payment they will without warning STOP your credit card as you are considered a fraudster and have breached their security protocols apparently!!! I found out the hard way about 5 years ago as I used to draw money out from one bank account @ Nat West then go next door into HSBC and pay my Capital One Card over the counter as that used to be Capital Ones preferred bank for over the counter payments. This was before you could do internet banking for this and the quickest way to pay my bill.

I recently had a letter from them saying that they had cancelled by direct debit, the very same letter warned me that I could miss a payment if I was to cancel the direct debit. About 2 days later I had another letter saying that they have set up a new direct debit for me.

I only stay with them as I have a good interest rate, 3.98% P.A.

I never used my card much so cancelled it about a year ago to tidy up some loose ends. I had tried in the past to close the account and they were very difficult about it and on two occasions I gave up and just stuck the car back in my drawer. Interesting how, as soon as the credit crunch got moving, they couldn't close the account fast enough :D

Same with Egg :D

Capital One have probably one of the best online banking services though.

It's swings and roundabouts.

Personally I've never had any need to phone them...

Been using mine just fine for quite some time, last i spoke to someone on the phone they were very much British (native english speaking) so that must be odd.

Best customer service I have experienced regarding credit cards has been American Express. Fast and efficient - one was raising credit limit, the second was asking them to cancel a late payment charge (I did tell them I'd pay a day late beforehand), which was actioned within 48h and without having to remind them.
