Elderly scooter rider takes wrong turn

A pensioner on a mobility scooter took a wrong turn and ended up driving along a motorway with a 70 mile per hour speed limit, prompting a police escort home.
Police received telephone calls from concerned drivers after seeing the 89-year-old travelling along the M20 at Cheriton in Kent.

we had a woman here end up in the canal on hers just a week after she rolled it in town nearly crushing a kid on market day. She had to be dragged out by two fishermen!

I dont get why old people drive those scooters on the road, do they have insurance? mot or tax? they don't even have number plates.

They shoud ride on the path.

I drove into a woman driving one of those scooters 2 years ago. They just don't pay attention or use thehighway code when crossing roads willy nilly....she even tried to claim damages off me but has been silent ever since I outlined everything on paper using photos and googlemaps.

the scooters do about 15mph, you can't put them on a path. i appreciate it's a bit of an inconvenience sometimes, and very occasional a menace

but they're called mobility scooters because they have very little and further restricting their freedom of movement is just a little cruel
