Froch vs Taylor **SPOILERS**

I'm behind Froch all the way, but I think if he went against Joe, It would be a very tough fight for Carl...Good last round though :)

Will catch the highlights tonight, sounds like an exciting fight! Surprised he was as outclassed as it sounds like he was for most of the fight though.

He's deluding himself if he thinks he can get Calzaghe out of retirement though imo, Froch couldn't even get the biggest fight of his life on TV in his own country he's nowhere near box office enough to get Joe interested. Beat Kessler then maybe Joes wallet will start buzzing :p

Froch has a serious problem now on who he can fight next. Joe isn't going to come out of retirement. Besides Joe would school him. Kessler is locked into a battle with Mogens Palle his promoter, at the moment Kessler's career is at a standstill. You have Andrade and Bute. I think a rematch with Taylor will be on the cards.

Bute is the obvious choice to aim for if he wants a "name".
Karoly Balzsay is the weak link in the division if he just wants to pick up a title but I think he's fairly busy and not much chance of it happening.

Agreed, Bute is the most obvious choice for his next opponent. Kessler/Palle is set to rumble on for a good while yet so he's not getting the fights he should. Maybe a fight with Pavlik will be setup, but I wonder if Pavlik will be too happy to leave middleweight after what happened last time.

Fair play, Froch did the business, I had him 1 down going into the 12th, but good god he didnt need it :D

The stoppage was spot on as taylor was going to sleep if he'd have taken any more punches, he was away with the fairies..

I'd love to see a Froch/Pavlik fight, it would be class while it lasts, but I wouldnt bemoan Froch an easier fight next after Pascal then Taylor.

Well done to Froch.

Taylor's biggest flaw is his stamina. When Taylor does turn it on, he's like an animal, but it only lasts for a few seconds. Carl Froch looked very edgy and stiff all night. If Taylor had the stamina he would have won imo.

Joe Calzaghe vs Carl Froch would be an easy shut out to Calzaghe.

only times Froch got in trouble were where he wasn't patient and went for bigger shots than he needed to, even from the start Taylor did little to trouble Froch when he was using his head.

He was barely tired after the fight tbh, and looked ready for another 5 rounds, he mentioned in his interview he really should have turned it up earlier he just wasn't quite sure Taylor was done. He was basically being overcautious as he new breaking america with a win would do him a world of good.

Lets be honest, even with the knockdown he didn't look hurt, I don't think Taylor looked close to finishing him in the round after the knockdown or at any other point. Was a good fight, great exciting ending which again, plays well for Froch and making a bigger name for himself, a boring fight wouldn't make US fans like him.

A calzage fight would be fantastic I think as both would really want it. Don't think Calzaghe has the power to hurt Froch, while Froch could have the power but don't think he has the speed. It would be interesting for sure, but worth seeing.

Fantastic drama even knowing the result watching it back now! Great fitness from Froch to still have a finish like that in the tank in round 12.

Real shame it wasn't on live reckon I'd have stayed up to watch it if it was on Setanta or ITV.

This is actually the first time ive ever watched a Boxing match all the way through, and I loved the lot of it!

I'll have start watching more in the future :)

just watched the highlights of the fight, **** me, i dont even follow froch tbh, but i was out of my seat when he did that in the last round, through the whole fight i thought no chance he was gonna win, he looked weak and sluggish untill the last round.

serious fair play to him

he might have seemed weak, but you don't gain strength/stamina throughout a fight, he had that he just wasn't sure Taylor wasn't holding something back himself. A loss would have screwed him, he'd be a joke in america losing to someone whose not really "that" good, meaning his next fight would be against someone worse, etc, etc. Getting a big fight anytime soon wouldn't be possible. THe punch that knocked him down, the others didn't really hurt him, that one was almost a haymaker, high and while he was looking the other way, luck more than anything.

I think the biggest reason he took so long was that, being overly carefull, get the impression he could have gone out and done the same over 2-3 rounds from maybe the 4th and had the fight over by round 7.

He's got stamina, some strength, a little speed, heart and a lotta balls. Calzaghe doesn't really have power, his "speed" comes from rarely throwing a full hard punch, very short quick punches with little power. I'd put money on Froch absorbing them and his power eventually tiring and KO'ing Calzaghe. Calzaghe is style over substance, Froch is almost no style :p but all substance.

Don't know why people dislike Froch and complain he has a big mouth, sure he does but he backs up everything he says. He's doing what he has too, to go straight to the top taking on these guys in their prime, he isn't hiding back in UK like some did hoping to catch some big names once they are past it. ;)

He did look sluggish and slow but tbh he was pretty similar in the Pascal fight, his defence is quite poor, he got caught clean many times but thats just his style. He likes to fight with his hands low and he does get hit a lot but he can take one hell of a beating. After the knockdown within afew seconds even while he was down taking the count, he looked with it instantly. It's seriously impressive how tough this guy is.

I hope he does get a fight with Calzaghe even though I can't see it happening. He would most likely get outboxed, especially with his lack of speed but the thing he does have is KO power which JC lacks. Would be an awesome fight to see simply because both these guys wanna tear each others heads off. :D
