What are all the things that could possibly be bad about a B-grade motherboard?

Could the warranty be voided, more importantly.

Thanks guys!

B grade items sometimes are just the bare unit/item sometimes they come all complete.

Taken from the description:
Warranty: 14 Days (OcUK) + Any additional balance of warranty remaining with the vendor of the product.

Pretty much says it all but all boards should be fully working

Indeed.

I bought an ABit IP35 Pro last week from oc/uk, it was a B-Grade.

In a nutshell, it came in a box, inside a static bag and had a rear header with it, otherwise, no cables, manual or driver CD.

Nothing a quick trip to the ABit website could not sort out.

I now have a perfectly fine & working £90 motherboard for £30.

After the 14days warranty, it simply gets RMA's to the manufacturer should any problems arise.

Given the price, wheres the problem? :)

Okay, I ask this becuase I'll be building me first ever PC build....
So thanks! As long as it works, I cant really think of anything in the box I'll need.

If its a new build it may be an idea to make sure you have SATA and IDE cables just in case it dosent have any with it. Also printing out the page from the online manual relating to the front panel headers may be a good idea. Also get the drivers while youre there :)

I bought a P5Q Pro for about 55% of retail price, just got a bare board. Problem I have now is it works, but I can't even get it to 400FSB with my processor stable, where on my old board this was fine. I'm thinking it's a bit of a lemon, but since it runs my processor OK at stock I suppose I can't complain?! I was under the impression the board should manage 400FSB since some processors would need this no?

It said 14 day warranty, and there may be more with the manufacturer, but this is Asus, so I think I have to go back to OcUK, who gave me 14 days, so i'm stuck. Can anyone confirm this?

Have you ever overclocked your E6750 on another board? I recall some 1333FSB Conroe's to have pretty low FSB walls.

It would seem that you are stuck if it breaks

Yeah had it overclocked in a gigabyte P35 board before and it was stable at 400FSB no probs, so it must be the board, I've tried different memory. When I have more time i'm going to put in an E6600 I have and give that a go to confirm the problem, there is a chance it's the CPU I suppose, it has a high VID, so might not be a great specimen.

Does look like i'm stuck with it though due to the Asus warranty, but some Asus boards in b-grade now state 14 days + remaining balance of warranty with the manufacturer, so might be worth asking. Still it was a chance I was perfectly preapred to take at £68 for the board, and I'd do it again, maybe just not with Asus!

I have purchased 3 B-Grade items here.
1). Rampage Formula x48 Motherboard - just the bare board arrived but worked absolutely fine.
2). Scorpio Black HDD - worked fine.
3). IP35 Pro Motherboard - faulty on arrival and a real pain to get it replaced / refunded. I am biting my tongue to prevent a ban.

I will not buy B-Grade'a any more. IMHO you stand too high a chance of inheriting somebody else's problem.

It was 21st March that the order was placed. The DSR operates for how long? I'm not trying to screw anyone over here just to get my money back, and i'll be trying another processor first.

where do these "B" grade items come from, are they units that have been previously purchased by someone and then returned to OcUK for whatever reason?

And if you do, (after the 14Day Oc/UK warranty period ) simply RMA it to the manufacturer - I fail to see your problem with this?
