I would have asked the owner of the dog if they'd have minded not letting their dog **** on my path. It's not hard to move a dog to somewhere else when they go to **** their leg.Saying what exactly?

I can see the old dear's point of view. I wouldn't like a dog regularly peeing up against my property.
On the other hand it's a perfectly natural thing.
What about simply taking a little spray bottle (about a pound in Poundstretchers and similar) with a dilute disinfectant solution and just give a few quick squirts when the dog "performs".
You will get loads of brownie points with the neighbours for no real effort.
Far too many home owners lately seem to think the public footpath and the road outside their house somehow belongs to them. Its doesnt and this cencept seems to totally elude them.
