Both 216's BTW.

Use: Work PC, 3D Animation (Lightwave + flash) + photoshop.

Looking at specs, the Gainward seems to be the better card. I see EVGA get good reviews as a company but should I go with the Gainward for the price and spec or is there a real good reason to go with the EVGA?

Cheers.

The EVGA warranty and support is better than Gainward, so if the prices are the same go for EVGA.

However, I have the Gainward card and I am very happy with it.

There's £17 diff. in favour of the Gainward and I'm getting two so that's a total of £34.

It's only got to last 12-18 months max.

Key thing here is will I notice the difference in performance?

The Gainward is pre-overclocked and overclocks further as well. I've had mine stable at 730 core (unlinked, but will go further) and my memory runs 24/7 @ 2400mhz.

Mmmm. So just to clarify, the Gainward is only that spec due to overclocking. i.e. as standard it isnt as higher spec.

And I can overclock the EVGA.

I'm thinking EVGA again now.

As said nothing much in it except for price and warranty. All GTX260 overclock to at least the pre-overclocked card levels and beyond so guaranteed you will be able to run your EVGA at the Gainward speeds.

However, if you are not bothered about 10 year warranty then save the £34 and get the Gainward.

If you search the forums there are quite a few threads where EVGA have got nesty with warranty and rejected cards for being dusty.

The Gainward card (assuming you are looking at the Golden Sample) will be 5-10% faster than the EVGA because it is overclocked out-of-the-box.

If warranty is no issue (10 years for EVGA vs 2 years for Gainward), go for the Gainward.

Sorry? Please explain.

EVGA step-up basically allows you to upgrade your GPU to a better one within 90 days and all you do is pay the difference. (You can only do this once).

Problem is that the prices on their website are a rip off, so it's not really worth it.

I got the EVGA GTX 260 SSC and I cannot overclock it further because it blue screens. I'd reccomend not getting this particular card if you want to overclock. The SC version overclocks good though.
