GTA IV non 100% complete save game anyone?

Hey all, I'm after a save game file for GTA 4. No - I'm not looking for 100% cos I'm lazy and cba to play it. I re-installed Vista a couple of months ago and took advice that the game saves were in 'steamapps' and wouldnt need anything else backing up ..... how wrong they were

I'm after a game save just after the second island is unlocked, I'd done the mission with the stranger outside the Poop Deck seafood restaurant at the bottom of the island and was about to do the story line mission at the top of the island for Playboy X - but I never made it that far.

If anyone can provide a game save close to that part of the game I'd be hugely grateful.

Thanks in advance.

email in trust.

What was the name of the mission where you choose revenge and your going after the guy in the helicopter via a speedboat, then you have to jump into your own choppa off the boat?

As i did the same thing and never got past that mission!

I beat the game once with no cheats, then re-installed Vista like the OP and same thing happened to me. I just figured I might as well play it again but I decided to use cheats as everything I unlocked online still stayed the same. I really hope the next GTA will incorporate a parachute or jetpack tho. There are some sweet buildings I want to jump from!

Steam only downloads gamefiles, not anything to do with your individual profile, so any custom settings and save files will be lost when your re-install. If you had backed up your save files and any config files for settings, then after re-installing Steam and letting it download the gamefiles, all you'd need to do would be copy your own files back over into the right directory.

Its a shame that it seems you were given the wrong information before formatting

There was talk of something called Steam Cloud which was going to save all of your save-games and settings online. I'm not sure what came of this as I haven't heard anything about it in a year.

this exists in left for dead with syncing game configuration files, as for save games or other non valve software I cant comment.

When I wrote my post I had forgotten how long its been since I used Steam.

My post was certainly correct the last time I used it, but it would be a good step forward if they have since implemented something to backup config files and save data to your account.

GFWL 3.0 will have a cloud settings save feature in the summer on all supported LIVE games as well as 1 time only product activation so you can install your game on as many PC's as you like with no activation limits but it will only run on 1 PC at the same time. This is a new 0 day piracy feature which MS hope will entice developers to support the PC again and they are even providing all the activation servers as well.

Sounds good, I was hoping that GFWL was gonna do from the start, will be nice if they implement it in the near future though.

Cheers for the replies folks, sorry I didnt respond sooner, for some reason the email alert isnt sending me emails.

Bizarre: I found that site the other day, but seems it involves some messing around and with files etc. I tried it a couple of times but GTA4 says it cant locate the information in the hard disk or something similar. Guess I'll have to start again. Shame as I was doing lots of silly stuff like getting all the pigeons on the 1st main island.

Cheers again for all you help!!
