New iPhone this summer

I have this feeling it won't come with a power adaptor just as the ipod packaging has gone from all the accessories to just the unit and two cables. I think the iPhone may go from all the accessories to just two cables too. As they have already cut out the dock from the deal and are constantly looking to make smaller packaging.
 
I signed up for the current 3G iPhone the other day, 8gb on the 24 month contract so he phone is free

If a new iPhone is announced it will be at the WWDC in June, if it's anything like the 3G it'll be September time before it hits the shelves. Also if it's anything like the 3G one, O2 will do an upgrade of sorts.

Plenty of rumors going around, nothing definite at all but i'd imagine a new iPhone would bring more capacity, better camera with video support, better battery life and probably quicker CPU/GFX bits.

Also heard a rumor about front camera for video calling and HSDPA for quicker 3G access, however unless AT&T pull their finger out to upgrade their network it won't be much of a benefit to them.

I'd be willing to put good money on an announcement of the new phone in the June WWDC, and a release Early July. (Much like the iPhone 3G)

Not sure where you got your predicted release of "September time" came from, but both the iPhone and iPhone 3G were announced in Early June, and then were both released Late June and Early July.

Apple are usually reliable in sticking with the routine, so it's a good bet a new phone will arrive in the coming months ;)
 
I'm sure this time last year there were loads of photos and various bits of near enough confirmed info on the iPhone 3G, but this year nothing

I'm sure something will be announced at WWDC, just not sure exactly what it'll be!
 
I would absolutely love one in bright orange. Still hoping o2 will allow a free/cheap upgrade as long as you sign upto a new 18 month contract.
 
Yeah, i'm expecting O2 to let you upgrade for a small fee (£100 I think some were charged last June to upgrade to the 16gb) and a new 18month contract, same as last year I think!
 
Was the iPhone 3G made immediately available on Pay as you go or did you have to wait?

Just wondering as I'm currently on a £20 simplicity contract on o2 so will have to buy the Pay as you go iPhone in July... Hopefully ;)
 
Phoned them up and I'm on some simplicity tarriff indefinitely until I decide to upgrade. Something like £14 a month and includes unlimited call sand 600 texts. I'll be gutted if Apple don't realise a new iPhone in june!
 
Any more news on this. I have an HTC Touch HD but I am getting annoyed with it, so tempted to sell it, bank the cash and then get an iPhone on P&G, but use my O2 contract sim (I assume that will work!).

But if there is a new one coming I might wait.

The only confirmed news is that there is a new version of the iPhone firmware due out soon but no date has been announced. There's almost certainly going to be new iPhone hardware but it's all just rumours and speculation at the moment as to what it will contain.
