Well lukilly I'm in Manchester so the hills are pretty close, if anything bas happens I'll be safe when I run for the hills, I'll shoot any pigs I see.
 
About time we had a Decent disaster to trim the population down a bit as AIDS let us right down. :D

It would seem that my bosses at WMAS are preparing for the worst at the mo, we've had a special press release with new algorithms for processing 999 calls.. I don't mean to sound like a pussy, but this really has me worried.
 
the media will now go into a phase of taking it down and how it probably isn't that bad after all. If this happens I reckon we are up the creek without the paddle. Goverments will exerting pressure to calm things down so not to cause any panics.

OR

The virus is not as dangerous as first thought, and the dense population of the emerging area and poor medical facilties caused it to look more dangerous than it actually is.

I'd prefer they stick to trying to cause mass panic over which celebrity just dumped some other celebrity, rather than an actual real virus they know almost nothing about, which may / may not be capable of killing squillions of people.
 
This really is a mountain out of a mole hill. A complete over reaction, a few people die in Mexico and then BOOM it's a media feeding frenzy.

We were issued special mobilising instructions during the last fiasco involving SARS, I start my first nightshift tonight so will probably find out later if we have had any new directives from the big hoose. :cool:

Since New Dimension it seems every senior officer wants to stick his name on a bit of paper with a few "guidelines" and updates and send it out to us everytime something similar to this kicks off.

I have only just got over dying from SARS, then I died again from Bird Flu and now the pigs are out to get me. :)

I'm sorry for the people who have died of this but really, i'm not going to start taping up my windows.
