Fiat Punto Mk2 Stalling on Ignition

My punto has developed a lovely new fault (just as i'm trying to sell it, and just after a string of other just as beautiful problems).

Easy symptoms:
I fire up the ignition, it turns over and fires up, then revs drop until it stalls. It started up where the revs dropped but stayed there until i blipped the throttle, then it idled at the normal speed.

If i fire up the ignition, rev it and then let it idle, it's fine. Just on ignition, every time.

Any ideas oh magical work of OcUK Motors?

Work done recently:
HGF (1.5K ago)
Water Pump (Less than 200 ago)
Timing Belt Kit (6K ago)

Car:
Mk 2 Punto
Y Plate
1.2 8v

EDIT: I've been told to try resetting the ECU (30 mins without battery) just as a step in eliminating things...

My MAF sensor was what was causing my funny dipping idle, swapped ot out and its been fine ever since :)

Dont know how similar alfa 145's and fiat punto's are, but it could be a good thing to consider as a cause.

Problem is that it doesn't affect idling once the engine has started and been blipped, it's just that initial start up...

But i'll look into cleaning the ICV, thanks.

My V Reg HGT used to do this, but I never did look into getting it sorted. Just revving slightly seemed to work. Not much use for selling though. If you are part exchanging it then just take it out for a short drive and it will probably be fine starting from warm ;)

Unfortunately, it's the same whether it's started warm or cold. Did a 7-8 mile journey last night, got to the destination, turned it off, fired it back up and it did the same thing :(

Gex, that's why i stopped using the garage after that happened...

Clutch was done not too long ago (not long after i got the car, my fault for being lazy).

Selling this on Saturday, so no more problems for the next 2 years :D
