Maclaren given 3 race suspended sentance

Well, I kinda figured it would've been at least 2 races with an actual ban but I guess a 3 race suspended sentnce is having Lewis and Whitmarsh sighing with relief

They should have been DQed from 2 races technically, since they lied about the Aus incident both at the Aus GP and then once again at the Malaysian GP

McLaren were called in front of the stewards once again at the Malaysian GP over the issue with the Aus GP, and stuck to the same story as the Aus. GP ... this is despite a recording of the team radio being played back to them - hence why I say they technically lied at both GP weekends as they were in front of stewards over the issue at both GPs.
 
I'm not sure I entirely understand the full story of this? From watching the 4min video on the article on BBC website, it seems that McClaren did nothing wrong? I'm confused!

EDIT - just read the article and the bit about them contradicting themselves, makes sense now!

they did two things wrong.

1: they forced trulli to repass them under safety car conditions
2: when called to stewards to ask how trulli got past them, they claimed he overtook them and said nothing about slowing down to 5mph to let him pass.

It was the same lie though? It wasnt a new one.

Doesn't matter, they still lied at two grand prix weekends to the stewards; be it over the same incident.

Second lie was even worse technically, as even when presented with the evidence form their own radio transmission they stuck to the same story - thus perhaps implying that FIA "fabricated" the audio tape? :D

We will never get the whole truth, but on its own, thats a very clear indication that things were not rosy inside McLaren.

The lie was concerning 1 particular race (Australia), its totally irrelevant where and when the lie was made. Your thinking seems nonsensical.:confused:
