right click the taskbar, toolbars, new toolbar. Then just have 2 folders of shortcuts somewhere and link to those.

Installed last night - just sits on on a black screen with "evaluation edition" (or something similar) in the bottom right corner.

Yeah it's hit or miss with regards to games. But most seem ok. Red Alert 2 worked but the copy protection kicked in when playing a network game and I kept in dying straight away.

Hmm, now the question remains, if I did upgrade to RC can I install RTM over the RC or will a reinstall be needed!

You can, I think you need to edit something though and change the build number to what your current build it, I had to do that from 7068 to 7100.

I like Windows 7 because I can just extract the ISO to my SD Card and install it that way

Anyone having issues with the sleep function? Sometimes it works for me, othertimes it sits there with all fans running and I have to cold boot my PC including confirming BIOS settings before the thing starts.

I find the PC randomly wakes up sometimes, sleep function is broke still.

Could be windows updates or media center guide downloads - they're the usual culprits. XP and Vista used to wake me up at random hours of the night doing this too.

Mine never did AFAIK with Vista. Can't remember back to XP, more than 6 months ago, many pints consumed since!

Yea I used to keep my PC in sleep all the time here when on Vista and it never woke up, after upgrading to Windows 7 that's not possible with the fans at 100%, even with the fans at 40% I cant sleep, any noise wakes me up

So apart from super easy backup, what other benefits does VHD have?

Tried 7058 I thought it was cool but had a problem with torrents, well u-torrent my wireless would disconnect when downloading, have they fixed it in this build?

Perhaps it's a problem with the chipset drivers that W7 uses. Has anyone tried any ones direct from mobo manufacturer?

silly question,

How do you get RC ( i know you have to wait till the 5th) and then how do you install it?

Sorry never done anything like this before. But it looks so sexy i'm gonna give it a go.

(i did read most of the thread but could not see anything)

Download off a torrent site, google mini torrents, use the first result, RC is out now it's build 7100, install it either via upgrade or via clean install the same as you would with xp/vista but make sure you have a beta key to use.

Then check the Hash of the iso with the tool in the 1st post.

Ah thanks, can you still get beta key's. i know it finished, but are they releasing more?

I missed out on gettin gone as i was away! boo!
