Getting caught on phone by policeman?

Hey guys..

Quick question am a bit paro really..:o

Was off to an onsite job today and while waiting at lights, I got a call from my boss asking where I was I answered but had it on my lap with loudspeaker..

There was a copper randomly standing at a cross section I got lost and went to this cross section about 3-4 times lol, anyway I noticed while I was chatting to the boss he took out a notepad and wrote something..so maybe I looked suspicious! :eek:

Question is...can I get done (fine) for using a mobile phone without the copper stopping me or pulling me over?

As you dont get a ticket listed to a car but a person right?

That would be like giving you a ticket for talking to a passenger in the car!

Maybe he was just writing down the reg to radio in to check if the car wa snicked etc.
 
But I had to pick it up to answer it then rested on lap (paro he saw me)...I did not have it held up to my ear though..

Just basically wanting to know if I can expect a letter through my door with a fine...without being stopped, etc.
 
Beeping your car horn like there's no tomorrow will anger other motorists.

I was backing out of my uncle's house' driveway in stoke the other day, was driving his pathfinder so had to take a little longer to back out onto the road and then drive off 3 point style and this small woman in some piece of crap was beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping and beeping furiously muttering words that looked like "move move come on move".

I wanted to leave the car half in the road, get out then stick a post it note on her window saying "wut?" or something but I just tried to ignore it as best as possible.


At least I was looking down at her from a great height whilst doing so :p

Just picking the phone up is enough to get you stopped and fined/points added.
I'm not saying that has happened in this case - you would have been stopped there and then.
However for future reference you should be aware that "hands-free" means just that.
If you're picking your phone up it isn't hands-free and you can get the fine.

Yea, shame your car didnt "break down" while you were trying to move.... ;)
would have prolly caused her head to explode, when after she had to reverse out, you "fix" your car and drive off.....
 
using hands free doesn't mean you will get off with no fine/points.

if the coppers thing you are driving without due care and attention then you're shafted anyway hands free/speaker/bluetooth whatever :)
