Breast feeding

A man is a man. It's inherent. What he does or doesn't do has no bearing on that.

Your line of argument would be more accurately expressed as "do as I say or I'll regard you as not existing", because they can't be anything other than a man, so if they're not a man they cannot exist.

I know that what you meant was "Do as I say or I will regard you as an utter failure and therefore extremely inferior", but logically your line of argument leads to the conclusion that they don't exist.

I've never been a fan of people being told that they must conform to some arbritrarily chosen set of gendered rules for everything, even thought. A man must think this, a woman must think that, yadda yadda. It's a blivet.

Get over yourself, you knew exactly what I meant. And until you can show me why men should leer at or otherwise persecute breastfeeding women, then I'll continue to disregard men who do that.

Yes, I knew what you meant. That's why I made the post I did, which you apparently didn't understand.

Until you can show me why you think there's any sense in what you posted, I'll continue to disregard your senseless post.

Until you can provide any evidence that I think men should leer at or otherwise persecute breastfeeding women (free clue - you can't because you made that up to smear me), I'll also hold you in casual contempt for immediately resorting to baseless smears in lieu of the argument you don't have.

Well said that man.

First time I have met her. Don't think she was coming onto me. I don't know. I am one of those men who are useless at reading signs

Believe me, she wasn't coming onto you. She was feeding her baby.

I don't really see how difficult it is to not look at a breastfeeding woman's boob. Sure, when you're younger and boobs & social decorum are all new & exciting you might have to force yourself to hold that eye contact. But when you've grown up it'll get easier to handle these difficulties of life.

Breastfeeding is evolutions way of feeding babies, its a solid and reliable process that has been in situ as long as people can remember.

How anyone can find breastfeeding a turn on I don't know, but each to their own.

I find women who give babies and toddlers fizzy drinks in a bottle far far more disgusting.

Chances are your average bloke walks past many breastfeeding women every day, the vast majority just look like they are holding / cuddling their baby. If you stare and watch carefully without blinking you may get a flash of nipple as the baby latches on / off.

In her own home she may be a lot more relaxed and hence why you saw what you did, most women once they have been breastfeeding for a while do it almose automatically. Baby needs milk, baby gets milk.

I really dont understand the "I dont do a dump etc in public" argument. For starters the health risks to the general public are massive if people did that on a regular basis. It also smells foul and is a waste product of eating. None of these apply to breastfeeding.

People who get worked up about it are entitled to, chances are if you ever have kids and your wife / partner breastfeeds your opinion will change.

A gentleman should always look at a womans face / eyes anyway - leering at her breasts is not really acceptable anyway.

I'm friends again with one of my ex's. Went out with her for about 6 months at uni, she's now married and has two kids, was chatting to her the other day and she starts breast feeding the youngest. First thing the went through my mind was "i know whats she's done with them, now in a babies mouth euwww."

Second thought was "been there, done that".

I have no problem with it, however the wife has a problem with my genetic programming to stare at boobies at every available chance :(

You need a new wife. Mine is cool with my boob and bum fixation.

Anyway, nothing wrong with breast feeding in public (it's natural after all) but I do have a problem with the Womens Lib people making a big show and dance about doing it.

What I find concerning is that the OP was supposedly doing a job, probably works for the council or something, and this happens to him, and he decides to post a message on the internet, the title of which you'd think he was making a serious point about breast feeding in public, but within one post he is saying how he was turned on by the event and didn't know if she was coming on to him or not. Quite why you had to spell out that she was "20" and "stunning" and there was just "you and her, (and the baby)" in the house, i.e. confirming there was no bloke around to interfere, seems very strange to me. Post was 1% "serious social comment on breast feeding in public", 99% "Cor, I saw a womans norks today, she was 20 and a stunner, she probably would have if I'd asked"

A mother has a legal right to breast feed her baby, and any attempt made to stop her, or to 'leer' can infact lead to conviction either under maternity discrimination or sexual discrimination grounds (dependent on the age of the baby in question)

I think the OP may be on dubious grounds starting a thread which is more 'phwoar' than 'aww' about breastfeeding...

Don't be silly, its an adult discussion, not an attempt to sexually discriminate.

I am not suggesting that adult discussions shouldn't be had - especially about what seems to be such a controversial issue
What I am suggesting is that sexualising the act of breast feeding may be (in the most broad of terms) an offense!
Or is it just me who reads the words 'hot' 'stunning' and 'erotic' as suggestive terms?
What if said woman read this and decided to print out and report it? Do you really think the comments made would *all* be seen as innocent 'adult discussion'?
