Left 4 Dead Free on Friday

Just tried it, its quite fun except i can see it getting boring a bit too fast. I prefer DOD source.

Its £16.19 today aswell, not sure if i will get it or not
 
^^What game modes have you tried? Also, for £16 if I didn't have it already, I'd buy it and join the overclockers group and get some games in within that, it's generally a good laugh.
 
You have to play co op to appreciate this game, also I wouldn't recommend jumping straight into survival it may get boring quick.

When there are 4 of you on voice chat having a blast it can be good fun especially if one of you is being chased by a tank and you slam a door on them :) panic

Agreed. If I didn't have OcUK guys and my own friends playing this game I would have probably stopped a while ago.

New VS games with OcUK'ers who you don't play with often is a great way of mixing it up, meeting new people and having good lulz!!

It is no more a single player game than Battlefield 2 is to be honest in my opinion for anyone thiking of buying this for single player only.
 
K I have to be honest I am not too impressed with L4D either (prob cos it got bigged up so much heeh) and yes I am playing it with friends and I am sure tonight we would have completed the campaign... but then what? the other mode just seems meh

Secondly playing most multiplayer games with friends makes them way more fun than by yourself so...

I don't know, sure it was nice of them to put it on steam to play for free but I don't think any of my friends will buy it.... unless it goes the price of TF2 in which case I could justify the price even if I hardly play it :D

So to sum up don't hate it or love it ... like I really should have some feelings about it... take DOW2 for example sometimes I really hate it and sometimes I really love it and thats what keeps me coming back :)

I assume you and your buddies have done a COOP game. Where you do all 5 levels on normal difficulty or something inane like that? To be honest this is like playing CS:S with 4 friends on one team and 4 bots on the other. Only good for map learning and practicing aim.

Survival mode is also pretty yawn unless you are in the mood for it or fancy a change.

Versus mode is far, far from meh. 4 People either team and play as both survivor and infected. Playing infected is seriously win and if you got a good team of buddies and voice comms you can really dish out some pwn to the survivors.

I'd recommend starting a lobby for VS with your 3 buds. Picking say the 4 humans and then setting the game permission from "FRIENDS ONLY" to "PUBLIC LOBBY". Four random people will join and when they do, find a server.

You and your four buds can then practice handing out the pwn to randomers :) (Only downside is this often leads to RQ'ers so make sure you are on a server that is publicly available and joinable from non-lobby).

VS mode is honestly great fun and I'd say thats mostly what the OcUK guys play.
 
The problem is this game is only remotely enjoyable when being played with friends and you have voice comms etc. Most of the time I really cant be bothered with that hence why its a complete no from me

just go through adding steam accounts to your friends list from that ocuk group

then when you've logged into L4D, it'll show you any 'friends' that are playing, and you can join that game, and will show all the ocuk servers :)

I would seriously get in the group dude, will help the enjoyment a fair bit I would hope.

If you go through the steam group and look at the names you recognise from forums to start with...that will sort you out nicely :)

I'm the same on Steam group, except its Knubj3 instead of Knubje :)
(It's because I'm a l33t hax0r ;))
