Is well written and i respect Stephen Fry a lot as an intelligent man. Bu it seems a little tedious. He seems to be turning his nose up a little at straight people too

That doesn't even make any sense ffs "don't believe in a gay"?! Utter toss and I would've hoped that people on here would have more class than to display such pig ignorance. He is a great man, whether or not you agree with his sexual orientation, take a jump.

what he said

read the bible. God intended marriage to be between a man and woman and that homosexuality is a sin. being homo is an abomination and its caused by demon possessions.

SIMPLES!

Read the bible?, a book written by "people" from thousands of years ago with dated views and ideologies. God didnt write the bible, sorry to disapoint you.

I dont want to kill them or anything lol i just dont believe in a gay. They can live nothing wrong with that :)

I just don't believe in gays. Nothing wrong with what I believe in :)

I believe there is something wrong with that. I believe your religion has clouded your ability to be reasonable and understanding, something Jesus apparently promoted.

Surely this is a wind up as I don't think it is possible to struggle with basic concepts and language this much and still be able to work a keyboard.

What do you mean you don't believe in a gay?

generally find gays to be annoying and not pleasant to talk to. however people like stephen fry change that (not that ive ever spoken to him.. ) and make my predjudices seem unfounded for sure.

So wait, if gay people have deamons in them does that mean you want to try and exorcise stephen fry???

Stephen Fry is a national treasure.

Writer, speaker, presenter, actor ....... there is no end to his talents.

This is pretty groundbreaking credit from me as I generally have a dislike for the UK celebrity culture.

Same here, I have a lot of time for Stephen Fry. An amazing man.

Because you know how to feel, and knowing how to feel is more important than how you feel. Deadness of soul is the only unpardonable crime, and if there is one thing happiness can do it is mask deadness of soul.

A lot of time.

A lot of time.

Seems very Proustian to me. I'm glad the philosophical sentiment is not lost on some. :)

Guys, you can pick up Moab Is My Washpot for about £4 in HMV at the moment if you're interested. It honestly is a fantastic read and I really did hear Stephen speaking in my head throughout. :p

It's odd. The two books that have had be laughing recently have been Stephen's and Catch-22. Both seem to cross on very similar ground in terms of their sentimental conclusions.

Anyway, I've scanned through the book and found the original letter:

To Myself: Not To Be Read Until I Am Twenty-Five

I know what you will think when you read this. You will be embarrassed. You will scoff and sneer. Well I tell you now that everything I feel now, everything I am now is truer and better than anything I shall be. Ever. This is me now, the real me. Every day that I grow away from the me that is writing this now is a betrayal and a defeat. I expect you will screw this up into a ball with sophisticated disgust, or at best with tolerant amusement but deep down you will know, you will know that you are smothering what you really, really were. This is the age when I truly am. From now on my life will be behind me. I tell you now, THIS IS TRUE - truer than anything else I will ever write, feel or know. WHAT I AM NOW IS ME, WHAT I WILL BE IS A LIE.

Read the book and you'll understand the context. :)
