Sorry to give it its own thread, but - STREET FIGHTER IV WILL BE ON STEAM - WOOP

I might actually buy this because of this . Lets hope it sells well because capcom usually make good ports. DMC4 for example runs with everything maxed, in dx10, at 1920x1080 and 8xCSAA at a solid 50+ fps, in fact the average was 78 iirc with some drops to the 50's in the benchy with my specs .

So this will be Games For Windows Live and now Steam. Great going Capcom!

Now if only Lost Planet: Colonies Edition or Devil May Cry 4 had went the same way.

I noticed non of our seasoned SF4 console players havent seen this yet :D Wonder what their reaction will be :p

Me personally I will look forward to this too.

For now? A big meh as my stick doesn't work with my current system build (apparently there's an issue with madcatz PS3 sticks and old AMD chipsets) and i've banned myself from using a pad as it makes me lazy, once i upgrade my computer i may consider a purchase if the price is right and the online is populated enough.

Excellent game though, really is one of the best i've played in years.

My only worry is the game syncs every frame with online opponents (for obvious reasons), so what happens if it's some numpty who is running the game at settings too high for his system? I can only assume that both parties will have to tolerate rubbish framerates in that circumstance. Iirc supcom used to do that and it being pretty much the first game that needed dual core resulted in loads of people with systems not good enough to run it, some matches would just go at a snails pace.

Multiplayer via STEAM available?

Please make it so!

I was under the impression that games for windows live had already been confirmed as the means for multiplayer? If so i very much doubt they'd make it multiplayer via steam too as it would completely fracture the community before it even starts.

It'll be the same affair as GTAIV; download on steam, execute via steam, but ultimately based on games for windows live.

Already spent £138 on this sodding game though... (£70 for a madcatz SE arcade stick, £40 for sanwa upgrades, £28 for the game)

Streeteh, you know whats gonna happen right? :D

I will play on the PS3 for a month or two. Get fed up. Sell the PS3 and get it for the PC and keep my TE stick and use it on my PC :D

(Er they can be used with a PC right? I was under that impression since it was one of the first questions asked when the TE stick came out - just needs some drivers or something).

The PS3 stick does work on MOST PCs, as i said it doesn't work with older AMD based motherboards, not sure why. An easy solution to this is to just buy a PCI usb card with a chipset on it that is compatible, costs like a fiver. I'm not gonna bother doing this as i plan to upgrade to a core 2 quad in the next few months and then my stick should work fine due to changing to intel.

I still don't get why you move from platform to platform so much. So far is it: PS3 -> 360 -> PS3, and then potentially changing again to PC? :p

So what will be the best controller for this game on PC? I have wireless 360, will a wireless PS3 pad work on PC too? :D
