Looks like the 197 has been pushed a little bit harder!

The tasty new Clio Renaultsport 200 goes on sale in the UK next month, with a range of performance upgrades and priced from £15,750.

The Renaultsport 200 is set-apart visually from its 197 Cup predecessor by a new frontal physiognomy blessed with an ‘F1 Blade’ lower grille that replaces the earlier ‘moustachioed’ look. The 200 also brings more dynamically-styled headlamps with black backgrounds beneath the glass, lightly re-styled rear lamps and bumper, and more prominent tail-pipes exiting either side of the ‘unique-in-class’ diffuser. Eye-catching new colours are also available, including pearlescent Alien Green, Mercury, and the stunning pearlescent Liquid Yellow that was previously only available on the 197 F1 Team R27 special edition.

Nice engine/spec but don't like the look of it. Plus they still have that 80s steering wheel.

Loved my 197, probably the best car I've owned and I miss it! Really like the rear end of the new ones and sounds like the few upgrades they have done will sort out the few niggles of the 197.

nice car but the interior is horrendous

The whole car is horrendous especially the playschool front end, few members of Clio Sport when to the Factory at Diepe and got some pictures of these. Really not keen

Doesn't look too bad, though not sure about the front. Though my concern is that at 1240kg this thing is pretty tubby for a hot hatch.

The 200 Cup is around 40 kg lighter at 1204 Kg. Have you seen the weight of other modern hot hatches ? I wouldn't say it was all that tubby for a modern hot hatch.

I think it is the same weight as the 197 was.

That is actually a horrific drag coefficient, but it doesn't look like a barn door?

That's what pedestrian safety does :) Although on looking around the web, it would appear that other manufacturers can make cars with low drag coefficients and are safer for when you mow down a few pedestrians. Maybe there is something else in play. On a bit of further reading, it would appear that there is some debate over the figure used in the article.

Really really not sure on that green colour yet, one that needs to be seen in the metal I think. It'll grow on me no doubt.

I really like these. I've liked all of the RenaultSport cars. But surely it's a bad idea bringing so many new models out all of the time. Why would I buy this brand new? They're bringing the 210 out in a few months. Probably.

Can't be good for residual values either - I envisage annoyed owners! Kinda like the Clio Williams Rev. 1, 2 and 3 fiasco.

Holy christ they missed the mark with that green haven't they? That is probably the gashest colour i've seen on a production car err since the harlequin vw polo? The liquid yellow however is absolutely lush and it would have been cool if they had the option for the powder blue the 182 Cup had.

Agreeing with most other posters too, front end isn't the nicest.
