Can't say my set of wheels is quite as glamorous as some of the stuff on here, but I gave it a bit of a wash today and thought I would take a few pics. :)

Here ya go...

Thanks for looking :D

I like the pics.

I had one for two days a few weeks ago, the noise it made did my head in. Do they all do that or was the one I had broken?

Nice car, but it's only a Polo. Why didn't you put it in the "Show us your motors" or "car cleaning" thread? :-/

Because I'm a bit of a noob :D

What engine is it?

Erm *blush*... 1.2 litres and 65hp of 3-cylinder beast :p

Can't say mine is too bad. But squeezing 65hp out of 3 cylinders does make it growl a bit. The engine noise is a bit more raw than you would get from a 4-cylinder. I quite like it though. :)

My girlfriend recently bought one of these in blue, very nice. The only thing that annoys me is that when you put the seats forward to get into the back they are not on sliders so access can be a bit tricky.

Smart car and nice pics, its refreshing to see a set of car pics that doesnt have any shots taken at daft angles :).

I'm afraid I don't see the appeal in these types of cars. That example looks quite nice though :).
for somebody who just passed their test or some old granny who goes out once a week to get her pension, something like this is ideal.

Very tidy looking example.

...or if you live in London and want a parking space within a mile of your home/work :D.

Passed my test more than 2 years ago, but insurance-wise this is still all I can afford. It serves me well for now though.

I disagree. I wouldn't see how an 18 year old would want to drive this tbh...The cheapest new model 2002 polo for example costs 5000€, and that's for rather bad/abused/heavily used examples ( in this case the absolute cheapest new model polo I can see is one for 5250€, with a damaged right door and faulty cruise control and only 5 months MOT.

For 1250€, an 18 year old could a 1993 4th gen 2.3l 4ws Honda prelude, which would be a nicer drive in my opinion and of course faster. I can see okay looking examples with no defects for this price and a full 12/11 month MOT.
The remaining 3750€ could be used for the difference between the petrol, maintenance , tax and insurance between the 2 cars. Unless someone rags it like an idiot from cold and drives a real lot, I can't imagine the Prelude being any more expensive for a long while than the Polo.

I agree. As I said before the example in the pics above looks REALLY nice, but for the price here, I wouldn't see the appeal.

I agree.
the only problem is that insurance is an absolute killer, i dont know exactly, but insurance on this for a new driver would be about a 1k - 1.5k, a prelude would be well over 3 or 4 thou, if you could even get insurance at all, and would be the same over the next 2 or 3 years.
