Hello all. My NVIDIA 7900GS (outdated, I know) has been playing up recently, could you spec me a new graphics card that'll replace this one and support my 22'' monitor until I upgrade my whole pc. I am willing to spend 100 pound maximum. Thanks in advance.

£80ish
Radeon HD 4830
Radeon HD 4770

£100ish
Radeon HD 4850
Nvidia GTS 250

You cant go wrong with any of those for under £100

I would have said GTX 260 and stretch your budget to £130 but I realised your computer won't get the most out of it, so a 4850 would suffice.

The 4850's perform about the same, so just buy the cheapest one.

Okay thanks, I think i'm going to go with FX ATI Radeon HD 4850 "XXX Edition" 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) then. Will I have any issues with it fitting into my current pc? Will it be bottle-knecked by my processor?

what case do you have? Most cases will fit the card, but just make sure, I think it's 9 inches, like something else I know :p

It will be bottlenecked slightly, but only by a few frames and that's nothing to worry about. You will need one PCI-E 6-pin connector for the card; but your 7900GS probably requires one as well so I'm guessing this is not a problem. The card is also pretty short so it should fit in a smaller case.

I just checked, and it does. Thank you.
