I need sugestions of a really really nice place to take my lovely lady tomorrow for our anniversary.

We live in devon near exeter/torquay so anywhere within 60 miles is ok, it needs to be either a beautiful spot in the countryside, or perhaps a really nice seaside village or something??

Sidmouth, Dawlish Warren, Exmouth, Paignton forthe zoo, somewhere up on Dartmoor. You've a lot of places to choose from within an hour.

Thanks for the suggestions, we spend a lit of time on dartmoor and the coast near exeter, i was hoping for the revelation of somewhere super special....

Badger's Holt is one of my favourite spots (though if you know Dartmoor well you've probably already been there). Best cream tea I've ever had (it won some national award back along) and a beautiful setting. We spent a whole afternoon just sitting there enjoying it.

I'm in Bude, it's alright here. Sunny today even now at 8pm. You could go beach, bit of shopping, pub, dinner... can't think what else.

Probably somewhere equally as nice nearby with more to do.

Depends on what you want to do really ;)

One of my favoirate spots is the coast path from Heddon's Mouth going east towards Lynton. The section starting at Heddon's Mouth runs half way up the cliff and the views and situation is fantastic. Depending on how far you want to walk and get back in a day it continues on to Woody Bay which is a really nice stretch. There is a hotel at Heddon's Mouth called The Hunter's Inn http://www.thehuntersinn.net/ which is a good place to get cream teas/beer/food. Lynton/Lynmouth is nice too as is The Valley of the Rocks which is nearby.

I'd recommend the most eastern section of Haldon Forest, just above Mamhead House where an Obelisk landmark is.

You get one of the best views of Dawlish and Exmouth, here's a preview pic, excuse the poor quality (phone doesn't really do it justice):

Otherwise, Budleigh Salterton is quite a nice coastal location with some pretty choppy waves.

Its a **** hole now :P half the shops are closed and town centre is over run with low life scum! But hey we have a big balloon on the sea front that looks totally out of place.

I have been surprised recently to hear a lot of stories in the media about trouble in Torquay; weren't there four people stabbed in one night a couple of weeks ago? I always thought of it as a very genteel retirement town

Bude is really nice, plenty more to do than somewhere like Clovelly; although it's nice, it's hardly a day there. Fortunately it's not too far.
