Hi,

I am trying to connect my laptop to my printer.

I have a brother DCP-340CW printer connected by the USB to my desktop. All is working fine. I now want to connect my laptop to my printer.

The desktop is already using the USB connection so I need to use the wireless connections or add my printer to the hard wired network.

I have tried setting up a wireless connection from the printer using the printer's set up wizard but nothing happens. When you select menu/lan/setup wlan/setup wizard the printer bleeps thee times and does nothing.

Any help would be much appreciated to either add my printer to the network or to connect them through the wireless connection.

Id say read the instruction manual, if the printer has built in WLAN that is your best bet for how to do it.

i'm a little confused, you say you're trying to get the printer to connect to your laptop via wireless?

i thought wireless printers are meant to connect to wireless router

I do not have wireless router, but I believe I can connect direclty using the laptop as an access point.
