Corsair Dominator Airflow Fans

Okay guys ive decided to buy 2 sets of these . What i would like to know is if i buy 2 of the airflow fans for them, will both fans fit on top of all six modules? Or is 1 fan enough?

Thanks for the reply n1blo. Those are the fans i will be purchsing. The thing is im using the Noctua NH-U12P CPU cooler, with 2 fans attached to it. Not sure if the right 120mm fan will be in the way of one of the memory air flow blocks. Also what do you mean i will struggle to power them?

and the 60mm fans, plus the housing, suggests 70-80mm wide - which in my eyes would cover six slots.

Sounds like a good 'un. I would expect it just uses one power header, it's only two 60mm fans, it won't be taking that much current.

One more thing. What sort of a performance difference im i going to see with these dominators compared to what i am currently using which are the G.Skill NQ 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit ?
 
Sorry to bump this thread but did not see the need to create a new one. The question I have regards the Domintor fan that came with my memory. Are these fans for use inconjunction with water cooled CPU only? The reason I ask is that if it is fitted to an air cooled system it will greatly impinge on the airflow into my Titan Fenrir fan. Is it worth sacrificing the mem fan to have a cleaner airway for the CPU? I intend to OC to 4Ghz+

Specs:

ASUS PT6 Rev 2, i7 920 SLBEJ, 6 Gig (3x2Gig) 1866 Dominator memory

PS. Tried the search function but could not find the answer to my question, sorry.
 
tbh I think most people on here will agree these RAM coolers are just for show.

Likelihood is that your RAM doesn't need it, even with a modest overclock.

I wouldn't think that this will have a massive adverse affect on your Fenrir, but it will also direct air downwards cooling your mosfets and VRM's.
 
Ram doesn't really need the cooling unless you're overvolting it, and that's considered unsafe with i7's and the 1.65V limit. Still, I'm going to water cool mine anyway.

Airflow aimed down will benefit the northbridge, and shouldn't affect the cpu cooler. Try it and see, load it with the ram fan unplugged, note the temp. Shutdown, plug in ram fan, load again and see if the difference is significant. I think the intention is to use it with air or water cooling

@Velineon the only difference is C9 moving to C8. That's negligible for almost everything, benchmarks and calculations with marginally improve. i7 isn't really bandwidth limited, you may as well stick with what you've got
 
I have 8GB of corsair from OCUK and each 4GB came with a cooler...dont know where the coolers are now as i never used them...never had a problem with the ram overheating though.

I was about to say don't bother spending £100 just to get such a minor performance increase, spend it on a GPU instead... but then I looked at your rig.
 
A RAM cooler is only needed in situations where watercooling is used (or arguably a top-down cooler such as the stock cooler) as with a normal tower cooler air is being drawn over the RAM anyway.
 
You don't even need it, it's a marketing ploy. Since older RAM didn't need it, and the voltages it used were much higher than they are now, current day RAM is more efficient and doesn't even need a heat spreader, as long as you have a case fan.
