Quiet power supply

Passive psu's are the quitest - FSP zen/silverstone nightjar/yesico FL
But not really gaming pc PSU's - usually low amps on the rails
If you have 2 or more fans in your pc the Cosair and Enermax 82+ range are usually inaudible with zalman HP range a close third at sub 50% load (poor above that).

Note: the Cosair models are not all the standard ATX dimentions - most are longer.

corsair 550? i know the 650/620 (cant recall exactly at this time) got good reviews for stability + noise.

I cant hear my Corsair 650 over the sound of the hard drives. If I leave the computer long enough for the drives to spin down, I cant tell if the computer is on or not (watercooled).

My Be Quiet 750W is as quiet as a (dead) mouse. The case fans (Antec 1200), PSU fan and GPU fan are all louder than it, and they're barely audible, so I can definitely recommend Be Quiet! PSUs.

Ive always found enermax to be pretty quiet, have a 650w infiniti in another rig and had a 620w liberty. Also the thermaltake toughpower 750w in my main rig is also a pretty quiet psu, though unfortunately non modular.

I can second the inaudible noise of the Corsair VX550 PSU.

I hear the low whooshing of the case fans above the PSU fan.

My PSU went totally silent on Saturday, as did my whole PC though. Was rather an impressive flash and bang. Really, don't buy cheapo PSUs, been through 3 of these in less than a year. EZCool 650 watt thing. Rubbish.

The only thing I can hear in my case is the power supply and I'm currently striving for a silent PC. Have the BeQuiet PSUs got a decent reputation? I know the enermax's are good but what are the noise levels like?
