Colour Blindness

Can't remember which 2 colours i was, but to be honest it doesn't affect me to much! The only real problem i have is with those bloody spotted colour eye tests!

Lol, totally, I was getting confused when I did the tests before I started high school. Everyone was like "Did you see the 8?" and I was thinking to myself I didnt have any 8s so thats when I found out.

I have red/green deficiency too, to be honest it has never really negatively affected me, so far anyway ;)

I had to chuckle reading some of the above, still makes me laugh when you mention it to someone and they start randomly pointing at things asking what colour it is :p

I can't remember what two colours it was (orange and red?) but there was a fibre in a microscope that I had to look for, everyone else could see it but me.

Apart from that though, I do have photosensitivity syndrome, meaning that too much light gives me a headache. The dark is the best place for me. I can't play games with scrolling colours either as they make me feel weird, so no Guitar Heo or Columns or colour versions of Tetris or too much Audiosurf *sigh*.

It's genuinely annoying as everyone thinks I'm making it up :(

Hope this isn't thread hijacking, it just reminded me. (Also, my first point was in relation to the thread.)

I also have a variance of this. If I get too much light (example very sunny day on the bus) my eyes go red and I get sore heads lol
I dont have any problems with guitar hero or anything. Its only too much sunlight. Need to wear sunglasses more or my eyes get screwed up...

i am quite sensitive to light but i assumed it was to do with my migrains. i have no problem with guitar hero or flickering light though

Might be the migraines causing light sensitivity or the light sensitivity causing migraines.
Migraines really are a killer, I get bad ones once or twice a month.

I'm slightly red/green colourblind. The only time it's ever really caused any issues was going raspberry picking with my family years ago and being slightly annoyed that they could all see the raspberries with ease whilst I could barely spot them at all.

I was reading earlier on Google that a policeman succesfully brough a case against the Police force for sex discrimination for taking him off active duties based on the fact more men suffer from colour deficiency than women :)

As has been said it all depends on the severity of your colourblindness. Colourblindness is actually extremely rare, and everyone here is CVD or Colour Vision Deficient. This basically means you see some colours as slightly different shades and can have trouble differentiating been certain shades. I am the least CVD you can be without having normal vision. There are other tests you can take (other then the Ishihara plates - the circles with lots of coloured dots in) and these tests can tell you exactly what type of CVD you have, the most common of these are lantern tests. The aviation authorities have such a test and if you pass it you are called Colour-safe and are allowed to have a commercial licence.
