in my experience with a 306 you get cheaper insurance but pay more for the car. A Xsara will get you a better spec car for the money but you pay more to insure. Since the cars are almost identical this is illogical but hey......
I sold my 98 R plate 306 for £800 nearly two years ago. Sure it had 117k on the clock but was a great runner and I only sold it because I promised myself a performance car at 25I think insurance could be the killer on a 306 and I doubt £800 would buy a decent one.
I doubt a derv would save a 17 year old money, with the price of diesel being so much more than petrol. Plus isn't a 306 a few groups above a Fiesta or Punto (1.2 Mk2 was group 2 iirc and £600 for a 17 year old fully comp).
If your buying one of these it's important to understand that the 1.3 and the 1.25 are different engines. The 1.25 was brand new at the time, the 1.3 was used by Noah.
It might also be worth looking at Nissan Micras, the big problem with these are most of them are only 1 litre. They are however very robust, when I was looking for a car for my G/F I test drove one with almost 160k on the clock. The engine wasn't showing any signs of major wear. Oh and your son will hate it.
nissan micra
reliable and very cheap to run!
£1k fully comp is still dreamland unless you are very, very lucky or have a classic policy.
Your in dream land mate. At least £1000 fully comp.
Fraid not. My last renewal when I was 19 on the Punto was £425. Girlfriend is 19 and just did her Ka and that was just under £400 I think, first one when she was 17 on a 1.2 Clio was £550 odd.
All fully comp.
Who are you insured with!?
Yeah, Peerzy, either you're lying or your fronting, or you've found some magical place with a magical insurance company where nobody ever has accidents or claims.
Your postcode must be in A or B for insurance, for one thing. I'd see how much Norwich want to charge me, but their website sucks and is saying cars don't exist.
